I'm using a technique called "dry point" to make all of these- etching, scratching and gluing on old linoleum floor tiles. I'll take some pictures of the plates soon too.

Last night we had a skype conference with some of the Reed College Russian classes. It was really fun to see a couple of familiar faces...





After the conference Kostya let me give him a haircut. I'm getting better with every snip.
Now he looks like the Russian Zoolander!

i dentity (theft) crisis.

Honestly, anyone who knows me should know that i don't need anyone else to try and help me spend my money. I'm good enough at doing that myself. Now, if someone wanted to help me make some....

It's happened again- all of my bank information was stolen. I'm a poor poor girl for another week and a half. Luckily, USbank caught the perps before they got off with any of my fulbright bucks. Zhenya (my Reed prof) will be out here the week of the 14th and will be bringing me and EB new cards (her identity was thefted as well). I'm suspicious our wireless network has something to do with all this mess. Looks like it's back to the ol' ethernet cable.

I found out about all of this on Friday, but managed to borrow 1000 rubles (and spend nearly all of it in a night) so that i could go see Stereo Total play at A2. After having an emotional time on the phone with the bank and then with Ryan, i was more than ready to dance out all of my anger. Fueled by my frustration, and gin and tonic in a can, I danced so fiercly, that i got to go up on stage, dance with the group, cracking up the girl from Stereo Total and earning 3 kisses on the cheek.
